What I am listening to….
If you are looking for something to do as you travel to interviews, here are a few podcasts I've been listening to:
Back of the Chart, a podcast launched by two PLME students at Brown that documents conversations between physicians and their patients, to demonstrate the "human connection" in medicine. They ask the physician, "Which patient reminds you of why you want to get up every day and practice medicine?"
All Access: Med School Admissions Podcast is a podcast launched by Christian Essman, the Director of Admissions of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He documents conversations with other admissions people at different medical schools. Each episode is focused on a single school.
Bedside Rounds is a storytelling podcast about medical history and medicine's intersections with society and culture. It is hosted by Adam Rodman who is a hospitalist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and an Instructor at Harvard Medical School.
